H3 lets you isolate the bad shot and regenerate a smaller unit. It says something practical anyway: at the common 15-second boundary, Seedance 2.5 costs about 3.6 times H3 around 720p.</p>\n<p>That changes prompt strategy. With H3, ten 15-second 768p attempts cost about $11.10. Ten Seedance 720p attempts cost about $40.03. Seedance only needs to remove a few continuity failures or edit joins to earn some of that back, but it should not be the default model for every insert just because its maximum duration is larger.</p>\n<h2>How I would run a fair test</h2>\n<p>Do not give both models a vague cinematic prompt and vote on the prettiest output. Use three jobs:</p>\n<ol>\n<li>a 10-second product or character shot with one image reference;</li>\n<li>a 15-second dialogue shot with required sound cues;</li>\n<li>a 25\u201330-second continuous action that H3 must split at a planned edit point.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>Run at least five attempts per job. Score usable outputs, not individual frames. Record identity drift, missed spoken words, continuity at the join, audio defects and total spend. The model with the highest demo quality can still lose if its acceptance rate is poor on the actual scene.</p>\n<p>There is also a deployment caveat. H3's weights are public, but its community license excludes the US, EU, UK and South Korea from the applicable territory unless separate authorization is obtained. Seedance 2.5 has no public weights, so it is an API/service decision rather than a local deployment option.</p>\n<p>My working rule: use H3 for short 2K-capable shots and cheap iteration. One async endpoint, model id `doubao-seedance-2.5-face`. Each request produces 4 to 30 seconds of video at 480p or 720p, MP4 or MOV out. Audio is generated in the same pass: speech, sound effects, background music. Spoken lines go inside double quotes in the prompt, everything else reads as scene direction. References go up to 30 images + 10 videos + 10 audio tracks per request, a lone audio file is a valid input, and real-person reference material is allowed, which is what the \"face\" in the id means.<br /><br />Now the parts that cost us time:<br /><br />- Prompt is mandatory on every mode, including image-to-video. Minimum 3 characters. 2.0 let you throw a bare image; 2.5 rejects it.<br />- The cheaper \"reference\" billing rate only triggers when you attach reference video. Image and audio references bill at the full text rate. Easy to misread, expensive to assume.<br />- With video input there is a minimum billing floor of roughly 5/3 of the output seconds, and input seconds count toward the bill.
